It was the day of September 27th of 2022 and I was looking up some insurance websites online to get some medical insurance. I applied to a few random sites and about 20 mins later, I received a phone call. The salesman from one of the sites called and I picked up to the warmest, most charming voice ever. "Hello this is Chris calling about your insurance application" he said. I truly believe it was love at first voice. We obviously had never met in our lives but the voice on the other end of the line just seemed so sincere and so captivating. We spoke about some insurance plans and I decided to go with one. He told me if I ever needed anything to just give him a text or a phone call. I was bummed because didn’t want to get off the phone with this man! I could tell he was charming! About a week later, I received a text from him saying thanks for being the best customer I had all week! My face lit up like a candle and I felt myself blushing like a schoolgirl. Over the next several weeks we ended up texting each other back and forth and before I knew it, I found myself constantly smiling and feeling in love!!! After a few months of talking and FaceTiming everyday we both came to the conclusion that we were going to give a relationship a shot! Obviously we lived extremely far apart from each other but we wanted to give it a try and we knew some risks had to be taken! I decided I would make the sacrifice to move from Indiana to Rhode Island to be with him; it was the best decision I've ever made!!! My first trip to see him was in February of 2023 and we spent ten days together 😊 ten wonderful days of finally getting to see each other face to face instead of FaceTime! Those ten days passed and I flew back home for two weeks. At the end of that month we both flew out to Punta Cana for a work trip of his and it was such an amazing experience!!! It was the first time I had ever flown out of the country! That went very well and the next month he came down to Indiana to spend some time with me and my family and we all had a fantastic time. My family loved him! Fast forward to the next month of April, he and his parents drove down to Indiana in their RV camper and we packed all my stuff away and that’s when I made the big move to Rhode Island. Lots of tears were shed and it was far from easy, but I knew this is what I had to do for a shot at love. We took several trips together over the next few years; lots of love, laughter and special memories were made. Some challenges arrived but we always pushed through them like warriors. In August of 2025 we took a summer trip to Europe with his friends and family. We traveled to Germany, Paris, England, Ireland and for the last stop of the trip, Italy, it was just the two of us. There was just something so romantic about Italy and I loved spending every single moment there with Chris. One morning we got up and he called an Uber to drive us up the Amalfi Coast. We got to go explore lots of little shops and just admired all the beauty around us. The driver dropped us off in front of the coast and told us he’d pick us up in an hour. We walked a bit on the sidewalks and suddenly, Chris gave me a hug. As he was hugging me he asked if I wanted to spend the rest of our lives traveling with many more adventures, and of course I said yes! As I pulled away from the hug he pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him!!! A moment I had been waiting for all my life finally happened!!! I said yes!!!! My eyes were filled with tears and so much joy! So here it is now, July of 2026, and we are getting our engagement pictures done in just a few days and we're anxiously counting down the days until we say I do!! It’s almost our one year anniversary since he popped the question :) and our wedding is just shy of three months away!!! We are ready to say I do and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for us. Cheers to taking chances in life and meeting new people along the way! I am forever thankful I took the chance of being with this man and changing my life around for better! He makes me complete and I’m ready for many more adventures together and a lifetime filled with love!! I love you Chris; today, tomorrow and always!!
